The Cause

This isn't just a bicycle ride. This isn't just a very, very long bicycle ride. This is an opportunity for 2 people to show the world the significance of these underrecognized diseases.

Here are some ways the Cycling Semicolons hope to make a difference:

Increase nationwide awareness about Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, colorectal cancer, and ostomies

Promote dialogue about these conditions as well as ostomy surgery

Start a journey that will foster excitement and hope among those living with these conditions

Generate contributions to and participation in the 2010 Get Your Guts in Gear (GYGIG) and The Colon Club programs and services

Create buzz about GYGIG - its rides and mission of empowerment. Create buzz about The Colon Club and its vibrant support community for people of all ages diagnosed with colorectal cancer—especially those under 50

Encourage those affected by Crohn's, colitis, colorectal cancer, or ostomies to get involved in events and organizations that make a difference
